The “Cycling Saigon to Angkor Wat 10 Days” by Global By Bike offers a cross-border adventure covering 350 to 450 kilometers across southern Vietnam and Cambodia. The journey transitions from the bustling energy of Saigon into the tranquil waterways of the Mekong Delta, across the international border by river, and deep into the rural heartlands and ancient temples of Cambodia.
The first phase leads through the lush green networks of the Mekong Delta. Leaving Ho Chi Minh City via a short support drive, cyclists pedal past coconut groves in Ben Tre, navigate narrow village single-tracks, and cross waterways on local ferries. The route continues through Can Tho and Chau Doc, weaving past endless rice paddies, dragon fruit orchards, and colorful pagodas.
On Day 5, the group trades bicycles for a high-speed express boat along the Mekong River to Phnom Penh. After border clearance, riders explore key cultural landmarks including the Royal Palace and Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum.
The second half journeys north toward Siem Reap. Cycling through rural Cambodian provinces like Kampong Cham and Kampong Thom, the route features flat red dirt tracks, ancient stone bridges like Spean Praptos, stilted houses, and lotus ponds.
The expedition culminates within the Angkor Archaeological Park. Cyclists watch the sunrise over Angkor Wat before navigating shaded jungle trails to discover the root-draped ruins of Ta Prohm and the stone-carved faces of Bayon Temple.
Throughout the trip, over 80 percent of the ride takes place on peaceful backroads. A full support vehicle carries luggage, provides snacks, and offers rides whenever needed.
